Translation of your financial reports: accounting translation services
Do you need a professional translation of your financial report into English, German, French, or another language? Do you need a fast turnaround? We provide a team of financial translators working for you from our international offices: highly trained and knowledgeable in-house staff bound by strict confidentiality agreements. Below are some considerations on financial report translation and useful tips for clients.

Expert Financial Translators
In collaboration with leading accountancy firms, in 2006 we launched a continuous tax and accounting training program for our translators. Clients can inform our project managers of any details they would like the translator to be aware of regarding their profit and loss account, balance sheet, explanatory notes, or director’s report. Entrusting a financial translation to a provider is a matter of trust: our linguists and project managers are available to discuss your individual requirements and produce a translation that is faithful to the original.
IAS/IFSR Terminology
Our translators are trained to translate texts in accordance with the International Accounting Standards (IAS) and the subsequent International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). This includes the financial reports of insurance companies, banks and financial companies, as well as the consolidated financial statements of Italian listed companies (S.p.A.s). Clients can indicate any departures from these standards in their financial statements and provide appropriate clarification regarding individual balance-sheet items.
Retrieval of repetitive texts
We use specialist IT tools to retrieve previously translated text segments, avoiding the need to retranslate them from scratch. This solution ensures greater consistency across texts, reducing translation time and keeping costs down for the client. We recommend that you provide your previously translated financial statements so that recurring content can be identified and reused in the updated translation.
Numerical checks
During revision, before the translation is sent to the client, we check the necessary conversion of decimal and thousands separators as required by English-language conventions. We also check date formats, including the differing day/month order used in British and American English. We therefore recommend that clients specify the country for which the translation is intended when placing an order.
Graphic Layout
SMG Languages’ in-house IT Department can format translations so that they match the original layout. To speed up translation into a foreign language, we recommend that clients provide us with editable files.
Sworn Translation
Translations produced by our official translators can be sworn through a certified translation procedure and, if required, legalized for use abroad. Our Project Managers are available to advise on the type of sworn or certified translation required and can manage the entire process for you at the competent court.
